Call for Panel Proposals
Panel Chairs
Organization and Submission Procedure
Proposals are welcomed for 1.5 hour panel sessions that will be of interest to both technical
and business-oriented members of the communications community. Each session will have a moderator
and three or four panelists with technical and/or business expertise in the featured topical area.
Panelists will make relatively brief presentations, allowing time for discussion with the audience.
All proposals must be submitted no later than 01 September 2008 to panels_icc2009@comsoc.org.
A proposal for a panel session is a commitment to organize it if it is accepted.
A proposal, one page maximum, should include:
- Name, affiliation, and email address of the person making the proposal.
- Title for the proposed panel session.
- Suggested moderator for the panel session. It can be, but is not necessarily, the person making the proposal.
- A description of topic(s) and themes likely to be included in the panel discussion.
- If available, names and affiliations of possible panelists.
Topics of Particular Interest
- Communications visions, roadmaps, bottlenecks, and road blocks
- Wireless and optical communications
- Cellular, WiMAX and UWB systems and technologies
- Network design, deployment and management
- "Micronetworks" and devices including RFID
- Spectrum utilization and management
- Support for new broadband and multimedia services
Furthermore, all submissions which are in the scope of the Call for Papers and
satisfy the previously stated criteria are welcome
