Scope
The scope of this workshop covers all the different aspects of using optics for home (and small business) networks. Many times this has been referred to as “fiber to the room” (FTTR), but indeed it is broader than that. The requirements and motivations of such networks are very important. There is a range of optical network types that could come into play, including point-to-point fiber, point-to-multipoint fiber, free space optics (e.g., Li-Fi). There are various considerations of the multi-layered networking approach to be used. Then there is the integration of optical in-building networks with the access network and with the existing and future local network.

We seek original completed and unpublished work not currently under review by any other journal/ magazine/conference. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
- Optical home network application scenarios and requirements
- Examples of system deployments, including installation and operational issues
- Home optical networking networks of all kinds, fiber and free-space based
- Advanced network architectures including MAC/PHY splitting to achieve best performance
- Multi-layer & multi-objective optimization and dynamic adjustment algorithms
- Support of short-range wireless (millimeter wave or light communication) with fiber
- Wi-Fi integration with optical to achieve centralized Wi-Fi access network (C-WAN)
- Beyond communications: Wi-Fi sensing integration technology and protocol
- Standardization of all the above technologies
