Please note:  As per IEEE ComSoc Policy A.4.2 - Complimentary registration specifically excludes paper registrations.  All authors MUST pay the registration fee. Registration policies can be found here

The conference does not cover any accommodation and travel expenses for the volunteers.

The International Conference on Communications is a very prestigious conference.  Each year, this event attracts thousands of people from all over the world.  ICC is based on a consistently excellent technical program and many networking opportunities.  The overall success of the conference is due to the combined effort of many voluteers.  We look forward to your help!

Meeting Information

The 2024 IEEE ICC Conference is in Denver, CO, USA, June 09 - 13 at the Sheraton Denver Downtown Hotel.  This meeting is expected to have over 1000 attendees, and volunteers will be needed to perform a wide range of roles, including welcoming, directing people, assisting with sessions, and coordinating.

Basic Volunteer Requirements

  • Volunteers must be at least 18 years old.
  • Volunteers must be able to obtain appropriate transportation to and from the meeting site.
  • Volunteers are expected to be punctual and arrive typically 30 minutes prior to the shift for coordination. Signing in prior to and out after one’s shift in the Volunteer Room will be required.
  • Use of drugs or alcohol prior to or during one’s shift or shifts is not permitted.
  • All volunteers will be required to sign a waiver in regard to the use of photographs in which the volunteer may be present.
  • The dress code is clean long pants with the supplied volunteer T-shirt and comfortable walking shoes with appropriate outerwear, i.e.: jackets and hats, depending on the weather.

Volunteer Roles

Volunteers are needed for the roles below.  Below is a brief description of roles and responsibilities for each volunteer assignment. 

EVENT ASSISTANT

Event assistants may be asked to help conference organizers in a variety of ways including, but not limited to:

  • Traffic control
  • Giving out information
  • Registration (stuffing registration bags, serving as runner for items, directing attendees to certain locations)
  • Assisting with Interative Poster Sessions
  • Assisting with other social events

ROOM MONITOR

Plan to arrive 20 minutes prior to the session and stay 10 minutes after the session

  • Will monitor a session room/s
  • Provide the Session Chair assistance when needed
  • Provide audiovisual assistance to presenter and session chairs if needed or contact an A/V Tech to assist
  • Ensure room boards outside rooms are correct for each session and that all presentations are pulled up prior to each session/s
  • Take attendance for the session in each assigned session room

AUDIO/VISUAL ASSISTANT/RUNNERS

  • Provide audiovisual assistance to presenters and Session Chairs when needed
  • If a problem arises with which you cannot immediately assist, contact the roaming AV Tech, or Conference Managers
  • Runners may be reassigned to the conference registration desk if needed

HUMAN DIRECTIONAL - TRAFFIC CONTROL

  • Helping guide delegates to the appropriate meeting room/location
  • Assist with any issues that may occur (i.e food service; air quality; etc.)

INTERACTIVE - E-POSTER BOARD ASSISTANCE

  • Assisting author/delegates find where their e-poster session is.
  • Work with author/delegate on any A/V needs (plug laptop into monitor)
  • Assist session chair check off presentations and log them into the database

MISC.
