WS-22: Workshop ON Aerial Internet of Things (A-IoT '24)

WS-22: Workshop ON Aerial Internet of Things (A-IoT '24)

Scope

With the continuous development of Internet of Things (IoT) technology, the traditional terrestrial network can no longer meet the global connection demand, and the emergence of Aerial Internet of Things (A-IoT) fills this gap. A-IoT refers to an integrated information system that provides seamless connection and intelligent services for various objects on the ground, in the air, and space by using space platforms such as satellites. With the development of 6G communication technology, A-IoT will become an important means to achieve global coverage, high-speed transmission, low delay, high reliability, high security, and other performance requirements. It can not only support traditional applications such as communication, navigation, and remote sensing but also open up new application fields, such as space exploration, space resource utilization, and space security.

A-IoT will also be deeply integrated with terrestrial IoT, Mobile Cloud Computing (MCC), Mobile Edge Computing (MEC), big data, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and other technologies to build a smart space-air-ground integrated network (SAGIN). Relying on the satellite Internet, the service field of A-IoT will be more extensive, and it will also become an important means for ground information capture and analysis, intelligent resource management and control, and emergency response. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct a Workshop on A-IoT. At present, we are still at the origin of A-IoT exploration. Although many traditional factors hinder the development of this technology, in the long run, the emergence and popularization of A-IoT will promote the progress of traditional industries and promote their further integration with future science and technology. The purpose of this workshop is to provide a platform for researchers and experts from academia, industry of A-IoT to share the latest research results and engineering progress, discuss the future trend and cooperation direction, and promote academic exchanges and industrial development in the field of A-IoT.
